I’ve loved silk for as long as I can remember. The velvety texture, the grandiose lustre, the sublime caress against skin- I’m smitten with every single aspect.
As much as I loved the gossamer fibres, I wasn’t comfortable creating something beautiful which had cruelty steeped in its origins.
Conventional silk involves placing the cocoons into boiling water in order to soften and dissolve the gum that holds the cocoon together.
After months of extensive research, multiple quality tests and fostering trusted relationships after thorough vetting, I discovered the best silk in the world 🤍
Our partner supplier shares our core values towards people and planet. They produce our Organic Peace Silk responsibly with the highest standards of quality, ethics and a serious commitment to support + preserve sustainable livelihoods and ecological biodiversity.
This is why I’m beyond thrilled to introduce you to our organic and fair-trade certified peace silk 🦋✨
Instead of boiling them alive, our ahimsa silk is produced in a way that allows the silk worms to hatch and leave before using the cocoons left behind to create silk. This way of production not only waits for them to complete their life cycle and fly away as butterflies, but also utilises less water compared to conventional silk.
The gentlest caress for your skin and hair, our peace silk is the finest grade across quality, sustainability and ethics and the epitome of slow luxury ✨
We’re extremely proud of our supply chain and processes and invite you to delve deeper into our world by embarking on a beautiful journey with us.
